In 1997, my son's first year playing Pop Warner football, I reluctantly took over as Head Coach after the current Head Coach had to step down due to his work schedule.    Out of fear of seeing a child not be able to get up because of the way I told them how to tackle, I invented my Dip-N-Rip-Sticks and spent the first two weeks of practice tackling only, we ran no plays, I spent that time teaching the children to tackle the way I taught myself to tackle at 14 after suffering my first ever concussion while playing back yard football.   At that point I had no formal words of instruction yet so, I showed them how to do it and they mimicked every thing I did and mastered it in a very short amount of time.  As we went along I began naming each drill something the kids all knew about to help them better understand each progression.  You, your staff and all your players will have the same success as well! 

While online one evening in 2006, I came across this statistic from the year 2000 that'd been released by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, stating that each year, there were over 448,000 reported football related injuries to Youth tackle football players under the age of 15, totaling more than $6.89 Billion Dollars in Medical, Legal and Liability costs every year.   I was so moved emotionally by this information that I founded a non-profit I named Train 'Em Up Academy to educate and train players, parents and coaches how to tackle using The Hosea-Method to prevent helmet related FORM and ANGLE tackles. 

Even with me being a Coach, a former player and a parent of a former Youth football player, in 2006 I was completely unaware and shocked that there were as many injuries to children playing  tackle football every year, because of the way I trained our kids to tackle,  we never suffered so much as a "stinger" to the shoulder due to our "Rip" technique keeping the Shoulder joints closed during impact with the Ball Cattier.   Our success we'd had preventing helmet related injuries since 1997, moved me to share my success  with the NFL in 2007, so I wrote Commissioner Goodell a letter introducing myself and shared what I was doing to help direct young men to make positive and healthy choices on and off the field. 

Back in 2002 while I was coaching at Narbonne High School in the South Bay of Los Angeles, a gentleman brought his 8 year son to my Tackle Training camps I held on Saturdays, well,  eight years later in 2010, this gentleman had an entire Youth Football league in Los Angeles and he was in the offices of the LA84 Foundation for funding to run his Youth football league.  The gentleman had a line item in his proposal to hire me to train his coaches and players how to properly tackle without the use of their head.  I was hired and Certified 200  Grantee Coaches and ending the season with a 97% decrease in injuries.      

After Grantee Youth leagues reported a 97% decrease in injuries during the 2010 season,  the LA84 Foundation rehired Coach Bobby Hosea and Commissioned a Scientific Research Study that proved The Hosea-Method does eliminate 100% of the Crown of the helmet from a FORM and ANGLE tackles during live football competition.  This result of the research study has elevated Coach Hosea status to "Eminence of the Health and Wellness Coaching Industry."

In  2012, Coach Bobby Hosea was recognized by the New York Times as one of the most innovative thinkers of our time when it comes to protecting the immediate and long term brain health and wellness of tackle football players, especially Youth football players.  Due to their underdeveloped anatomy, makes injurious tackling instruction all the more hazardous for children. The Hosea- Method tackle training system  is the only "evidence-based" concussion preventive tackling technique of its kind on Earth, elevating Coach Hosea's status to "Eminence of the Health and Wellness Coaching Industry!" 

While attending a Concussion Conference in Marina Del Rey back in 2009 or '10, just by chance I met the founder and creator of Xenith Helmets in the lobby of the hotel where the conference was being held.  Long story short, he ended up sponsoring my Tackle Training Camps up until he sold the company and the their vision of safety was no longer the same as his.

I got a call out of the blue one day in 2009 from a Coach I hadn't spoken with since 1977 while I was attending Ucla and playing Corner for the Bruins.  He asked me for help with what USA Football was teaching regarding tackling and wether if what they were going to be teach was safe or not.?

 California  Assembly Bill-1 Youth Football Act became law in 2018 thanks to the dedicated efforts of then Assemblyman and current Sheriff, Jim Cooper of Elk Grove California.  The new law mandates that Youth tackle football coaches must be  annually certified through a Nationally known program that eliminates "Helmet-Involved" Blocking and Tackling.  Due to our success at preventing concussions since 1997, I decided to share my system with the NFL back in 2007, writing a letter to them, introducing myself and my system,  explaining how my tackle training system had  prevented concussions since 1997 and would do the same for them as well.  They rejected my assistance in 2006 but, after the Congressional Hearings on CTE, they reached out to me in 2010 to help them with the launch of  their Heads Up Tackle program.

In  2020, the San Bernardino Valley College District became the first and only Institution of Higher learning to offer their Students the World's only evidence-based, Concussion Preventive Helmet-Free-Tackle Safety and Performance  Training Course, that has v cbxz.,4 since become the newest California Health and Wellness industry.  Soon, HFT Concussion Prevention Specialist will be roaming across California preventing concussions, neck and spinal cord injuries through the knowledge and training of The Hosea-Method.                 

In 2013, Coach Bobby Hosea's accomplishments in lowering the risks of concussion in the sport of American tackle football, were touted on the Sports Networker naming Coach Bobby Hosea as one of the most Influential People In Sports Business in 2012.

American Football Monthly Magazine Editor's edition featured a story about Coach Bobby Hosea's tackle training system, hi-lighting the methods I've used since 1997 to teach players how to protect their brain, necks and spines from helmet-related FORM and ANGLE tackles during live football competition.
